Framework

Scrum

Official Framework

A lightweight framework for developing, delivering, and sustaining complex products.

Plain English explanation

Scrum is a simple way for teams to work together to build things step by step. Instead of trying to plan everything upfront, teams work in short cycles and improve as they go.

Why it matters

Scrum helps teams deal with uncertainty. By working in short cycles and getting feedback often, teams can adjust quickly instead of wasting time building the wrong thing.

How it works

A Scrum Team works in short cycles called Sprints. They plan what to build, work together daily, review the results, and improve how they work before starting again.

Example

A team building an app releases small improvements every two weeks instead of waiting months. Each release is tested by users and improved based on feedback.

Common misunderstanding

Scrum is not a rigid process or a set of strict rules. It is a flexible framework that helps teams adapt and improve continuously.

Key points

  • Scrum is a framework not a process
  • Work is done in Sprints
  • Teams inspect and adapt regularly
  • Focus is on delivering value continuously
